Communion Bread Recipe

  • 2 cups - sifted gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon - salt
  • 4 tablespoons - sugar
  • 1 stick - margarine (softened preferred) 
  • 5 tablespoons - half & half
  • 1/2 teaspoon - vanilla

Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees.


Step 2: Mix flour, sugar, & salt.


Step 3: Add in stick of butter and mix for a minute. If no mixer, a pastry cutter can be use. Will be slightly clumpy.


Step 4: Mix half & half and Vanilla in separate small bowl and add to mixture. Allow to mix until it starts to lump together.


Step 5: Pull from Bowl and clump into 2 balls.


Step 6: Put layer of flour on counter and pat out ball. Flip and start rolling thin with rolling pin. Flip and continue till desired thickness - between 1/16-1/8"

Step 7: Place on parchment paper pre-cut to pan size. Cut with pizza cutter to desired square size - 1/2" square (If no parchment paper, can place on floured cookie sheet or pan and cut with ruler or other cutting utensil). 


Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes


Step 9: Let cool. Pick up and cup parchment paper and slide off into bag. If using flour, dump into a sifter to remove flour.
